Leveraging Search Trends

A few months ago, I got involved in e-commerce using dropshipping and print on-demand services. During that experience, I began making a variety of different t-shirt designs and then seeing how those designs were reflected in search impressions.

One design I did was a simple “I Heart Hot Moms” shirt and to my surprise, I found it was getting significant traction in search results. I decided to leverage that search trend by focusing an entire website specifically on those shirts and other apparel using similar designs.

My research seemed to show that there were a variety of retailers selling those shirts but there wasn’t a single site that was highly optimized for that search term. That meant, the number one search result for that shirt was through a third-party reseller, leaving a highly optimized URL to be capable of overpowering that result.

I bought the domain name on 3-11-21 and had the site completed by 3-13-21 after a late-night web design binge.
