Burke Land Company, a division of Burke Group LLC, is a real estate investment company that just took delivery of SellingLandMadeSimple.com. Each month, they send out numerous mailings to land owners regarding interest in purchasing their properties for cash.

SellingLandMadeSimple.com is the landing page that serves as a hub for these customers to input their information, accept cash offers, and convert leads.

With the potential of millions of dollars of real estate transactions to take place with this single landing page at the heart, it was imperative the website make the process as least frustrating as possible and for form information to be securely collected.The website uses SSL certificates (noted via the HTTPS) to encrypt data sent on the forms. This ensures even if the data is intercepted by third parties, for instance a form submitted on a local coffee shop wi-fi, it would be a random string of data.

Unlike GoDaddy which charges nearly $100 for annual SSL certificates, I used LetsEncrypt to offer that feature absolutely free. From there, I created email addresses using the SellingLandMadeSimple.com that automatically forward to a single email address. In addition to sending form information to their email address, I also setup their website to collect form entries into a database in the event of email failures as a backup.
