Project Spotlight: ShopToolsOutlet.com
Building out product category pages.
To get the best feel for what this web design has to offer, I recommend viewing the live site:
Learning New Systems
One of the challenges with taking on new clients is trying to learn how their website was built. Typically, every web designer has their own process for how they achieve certain aspects of a website and often that means using a certain page builder.
While some page builders, like Elementor, are fairly well known, occasionally I’ll run into a new system. With ShopToolsOutlet.com, I was placed in a position to learn Cornerstone page builder. While using a different system was likely more comfortable, it would have added yet another plugin to the site.
I built out several product category pages for Shop Tools Outlets that expanded upon the default WooCommerce capabilities. Once the pages had been built, we also needed to setup custom redirects to ensure the shop pages that were used by default were automatically forwarded to the new pages with different URLs.
